Why is the Edit Connection URL option for database connections disabled in the informatica Master Data Management (MDM) Hub Console?

The MDM Hub Console does not allow users to update the connection URL and edit the JDBC string.

This happens when the user selects "SID" for the Oracle DB connection. If you can use "service name" despite "SID", you should see an "EDIT" option.

If you select the Oracle SID, you have only one option to connect to an Oracle database and you cannot change it to other database. There are various options for Oracle services. The easiest way is to connect using the service name which is displayed through dialog box entries in the Hub Console. There are more complex options, and the HubConsole provides edit buttons to change them.

If you have a custom connection, select Oracle Service instead of SID.

Connection URL information is stored in the C_REPOS_DATABASE table with the column name CONNECTION_URL. In general, it is not recommended to edit this column directly in the backend rather than updating it through the HubConsole. However, if you required to edit this column, be sure to update it in your application server as well as data source.
